 The
Smoke Machine Network website was started in 1997 as an
independent information resource, and by 1999 had its own address
at smokemachines.net. SmokeMachines.NET
is now the largest specialist smoke machine website in the world.
Smoke, fog, mist, haze? Which term is correct?
The correct term is fog, for fog is liquid
particles suspended in air. Smoke is solid particles in
air - and our machines certainly don't generate that! Our
machines simulate smoke, but in fact generate a fog. In
the UK the term 'smoke machine' is historically more common
than 'fog machine' and so that's what we call them!
