Pea Soup's Phantom Hazer was used to provide the atmosphere on the BBC David Tennant / RSC production of Hamlet to be shown on Boxing Day, BBC2 TV. Just one Phantom "replaced a DF50, Cirrus cracker and a couple of Jem 24/7's due to the director of photography prefering the quality of haze from this unit."

New Range of Le Maitre Smoke Machines

Last week we became the first company in the world to offer the new range of Le Maitre G Force fog generators online.

The G Force range are to replace existing models the Speedfogger, G300 Mk III and offer a new version of the famous G300 MkII which has sold thousands of units worldwide.

The G Force 1 replaces the Speedfogger as a 1.1kW continuous output unit, but now with external fluid reservoir for increased versatility in installations.

The G Force 2 replaces the G300 MkIII as a high output 2kW unit.

The G Force 3 is designed as an updated version of the G300 MkII, a 2.2kW high output unit. It has a smaller chassis, twin pumps and twin fog outlets and is considerably less in price.

Please note, the G300 MkII is still available and will be for the forseeable future.

Avoid price increases, bring forward orders to March

Many manufacturers increase the price of their machines and fluids on 1st April. So if you are planning a future purchase of a smoke machine, hazer or fluid, then March is a good time to do it before the price increase kicks in.

As we've mentioned here before, due to currency fluctuations machines made in the far east have increased and look set to do so again soon. For whatever reason, the Asian manufacturers are paid in American dollars. Euro-currency-using manufacturers (although there is only Look Solutions in this category) hiked prices £100+ per machine earlier this year.

There's never been a better time to Buy British!

Free Le Maitre Pyro Delivery in December

If your order of Le Maitre pyrotechnics or hardware is over £150 ex. VAT, you get it delivered FREE in December!

Pyrotechnics are delivered differently to normal orders, as they are explosive and therefore hazardous. Delivery on pyro is normally £15 for up to 10kg. This offer only applies to orders placed in December. UK mainland delivery only.

Artificial Snow - next day delivery

Smoke grenades delivery price drop

If you're ordering a box of smoke grenades, any quantity of smoke pellets or up to two smoke spray cans, we waive our normal delivery charge (which has to allow for 21kg cases of fog fluid!) and only charge £5.50 for next-day delivery. Pellets are usually delivered before 1pm next day.

R.L. Stine's Haunted Lighthouse is a short 4-D film which debuted in several United States theme parks, including SeaWorld San Diego & SeaWorld San Antonio, in 2003, and stars Lea Thompson, Christopher Lloyd, Michael McKean, Sara Paxton, Matt Weinberg, and Bobby Edner. "Weird Al" Yankovic has a bit role. The film is an adaptation of R. L. Stine directed by Joe Dante and written by Sam Hamm.

Pea Soup supplied the large, self-contained heavy fog generators that are used to create a low lying mist for a UK installation of this film in a 4-D theatre in a theme park.

Hellboy 2 recently premiered in the cinemas. Pea Soup provided smoke machines for this movie. And if you're into horror - then look out for The Wolfman coming next year, which we also provided smoke machines for!

Perhaps one day you may see our name on the credits...!

The Ultimate Hazer

We've reduced the price of our Phantom Pro Hazer - the ultimate hazer.

Different to the DF-50 and Swefog units, our unit actually heats the oil so that the haze is sterilised - any bacteria that may be present are killed.

The particle size of the haze particles are 0.2 micron - which is the finest in the industry, beating MDG. It also means that it leaves no residue, because the particles are so small and light, they only settle 8mm per hour due to gravity.

It can also produce large amounts of very persistent smoke, so it's really 2 functions for the price of 1, and can easily fill huge volumes.

The haze hang time is well over 3 hours - not something any water based hazer can claim.

The unit was £1,500.00 and is now £1,395.00 with the DMX version down from £1,960.00 to £1,670.00.

The price of the smoke oil consumable is also reduced from £50 per 5 litres to £30 per 5 litres.

Darfur refugee camp exhibit in Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square is to be transformed into a refugee camp to highlight the plight of millions of people displaced from war-torn Darfur.

The United Nations refugee agency is setting up the camp beneath Nelson's Column so Londoners can experience the daily conditions suffered by refugees because of the five-year conflict.

The installation will feature four five-metre by three-metre canvas dome tents used by the UN, which can sleep more than a dozen people. Smoke and the sounds of gunshots aim to make the Experience Darfur exhibition more lifelike. Cooking equipment, blankets, soap and buckets used in the camps will also be displayed.

The exhibition will be opened by UN High Commissioner for Refugees, António Guterres, to coincide with World Refugee Week. About 300,000 people have died and two million made homeless during the civil war in Darfur between rebels and militias backed by Sudan's government.

Pea Soup have supplied the smoke machine for this exhibition.

Rosco Fog Machines and Fog Fluid

We're having a super year so far. To say thanks, we've reduced our prices for the Rosco range of fog machines and fog fluid. The 'Rosco' name is synonymous with quality fog machines for both the stage, television, films and fire training applications and we're pleased to be able to offer the full range of Rosco machines and fluids at unbeatable prices.

The Rosco Alpha 900 is a superb little machine, with a huge long remote cable (9 metres) and remarkable output for such a small unit. Because we love it so much, we've knocked £36 off the price and are now stocking 110v versions as well as 230v versions. The Rosco Alpha 900 was £235, and is now just £199.

Its big brother, the Rosco 1700 is the replacement for the Rosco 1600 (which in turn was a replacement for the legendary Rosco 1500). It is a very rugged machine with a timer remote which can be mounted on the back of the unit, making the system 'self-contained'. The Rosco 1700 was £389, and is now just £365.

Bigger again, the Rosco 1900 was £559, is now £510.

For low lying heavy fog effects, the fog output of any Rosco machine can be passed through the ColdFlow which uses liquid CO2 to chill the fog to sub-zero temperatures making it lie low. This machine has been £1,249 and is now £1,080. If you would like to order one, please let us know as soon as possible as they can be several weeks in production in the USA.

Rosco fog fluid offers a range of effects, from persistent fog to a stage fog effect which disappears after the initial blast.

We are pleased to announce a new price structure for our pyrotechnic smoke pellets. We have also improved the product itself - it now generates twice as much smoke and can be held in your hand while you light it for ease of ignition, and for a short time whilst producing smoke.

Our ICE100 heavy fog machine is proving very popular with schools and drama societies. It's one of the cheapest ways of creating one of the more costly stage effects - heavy fog.

The New Le Maitre G300 Mk 3

The G300 Mk3 is the latest smoke machine from Le Maitre is available direct from Pea Soup from 14th January 2008.

Whilst the new G300 does not have the hazer function of the existing G300, it is less than half the weight and creates the same continuous high volume of smoke with a considerably reduced price tag. This makes it the viable alternative to the existing G300 for those who would never use the hazer function but still need a very high output machine. It also makes a viable alternative to the Speedfogger.

Now it is possible to get many of the features of Le Maitre's top-of-the-range smoke machine for less than ever.
