Going underground

Under the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris is the little-known Draon's Lair. Home to a huge animatronic dragon who stirs fiercely on the other side of a water pool, the place is dark and damp. There's a smoke machine whose output is piped through the long dragon's neck and out to his nose, and also several ultrasonic water foggers in the pool - one of the first applications of this effect seen.

The units are small (2 discs per unit) covering a few square feet around them. They are mounted just below the surface and are mounted into flat pieces of slate (or slate-effect fibreglass) on stilts under the water. The photo above shows the installation, including power cable.
