SMOKE MACHINE REVIEWS - Antari F-80

Review of: Antari F-80
Date: 10/6/01
This jaunty little minx was quite possibly the cheapest smoke machine
around and certainly one of the most popular in the world (first
introduced in
"...certainly
one of the most popular in the world" |
August 1997 and now superseeded by the Antari Z-80
- almost the same machine but in a futuristic metal styling). The
nozzle tends to spit smoke rather a lot after each operation. Use
of the machine output is disabled when re-heating, which can be
restrictive in performance situations. The heating block is 700
watts. Ideal for small dark rides or mobile discos. It does leave
fluid deposits, even on carpeted floors which become damp (with
long lasting fluid - not so much with quick dispersing). An ideal
fluid for this machine is the quick dispersing type - for which
it proves its worth. Often goes under other names with and without
side identification - perhaps Antari manufactures this machine for
other companies too.
Idea: With this model, in theory, you could buy 2 machines
(or maybe 3) and have them blowing smoke continuously, so that when
one is in the dead cycle, the other is working. Then you have continuous
smoke (allbeit from 3 machines!). It might just work...! They're
certainly affordable enough.

Too soon to give opinion other than a good price (£50)
for a small good looking machine that does the job on a medium sized
(700W music, >1500W lighting) mobile disco. Flavoured additive
available for juice.
Cons: Seems to give the same sized burst of smoke no matter how
long you hold the rocker switch down for. Not very controllable
in that respect, also a few "after dribbles" when rocker
switched released to "off".
Pretty machine that costs a quarter of the price of other machines.
Bargain!
