Smoke, fog, mist, haze? Which term is correct?

The correct term is fog, because fog is liquid particles suspended in air.
But it can also be correctly referred to as an aerosol.
Smoke is solid particles in air - and our machines certainly don't generate those!
Our machines simulate smoke, but in fact generate a fog.
In the UK the term 'smoke machine' is historically more common than 'fog machine' which is the most common term in the US, and so that's what we call them on our website.

"I am a heavy user of several smoke machines, and I stumbled onto your site 3 years ago. Without a doubt, your site is the best independent website on the subject of smoke machines."
