Operation:

• Basic version & remote version (both on-board operation, off power, or remote)
• Particle size 0.2 - 0.3 micron, mass median diameter - the smallest particle size of any smoke machine. ('Disco' systems' smoke particle size can be anything up to 60 microns - a human hair is approx 100 microns). Fog produced by the heat exchanger in the Rocket has been subject to particle size analysis by the UK Atomic Energy Authority.

You can produce lots of smoke 'off power' allowing you to carry the generator around, making smoke as required, without a trailing electrical lead. After being on mains for at least 15 minutes, the smoke machine can generate large amounts of smoke for up to 2 minutes within a 20 minute window after being unplugged.

The remote control version can be used with the handle-mounted button when off-power, but not with the remote control (which needs power).

When connected to mains power, the Rocket can operate continuously at full output
using the push button on the handle.

In service with numerous fire authorities world-wide, many military forces (including the USN for shipboard training), as well as analytical laboratories, clean rooms, spray booths, and HVAC contractors, the Rocket smoke machines have a reputation for simplicity of operation and reliability.

These units are ideal for when you require extremely dense concentrations of smoke, or extremely large volumes need to be filled with smoke. This is because smoke produced is very persistent. The ROCKET TURBO is a high power version and generates almost twice as much smoke as the standard model - it's one of the most powerful hand held smoke generators available today.

The ROCKET QD which looks and works in the same way as the ROCKET machines above, produces an even thicker, whiter smoke but which dissipates within a couple of minutes. This machine is mainly used for special effects for smoke that needs to disperse quickly and not smoke log a location (e.g. theatre, steam FX, TV). It's also ideal for photo shoots. By using it with a fan, a superb steam / CO2 blast effect can be created (increasing air movement increases rate of smoke dissipation). It is also used by some hospitals for their fire safety evacuation training where they need a thick smoke effect, but when the smoke must disperse after the test without ventilation available. Higher ambient temperatures also make the smoke disappear faster (at 30C the smoke is gone within 30 seconds).
Note: You cannot use persistent Rocket Fuel aerosols (above) in a Rocket QD machine because the machines operate at different temperatures.
